- The door slammed.
- The drums bammed.
- The trumpet tooted.
- The trombone jammed.
- Until once again the door slammed.
- All of us in the kitchen scrammed.
- Back in our wall holes we all ran,
- As the house owner said we were all banned
- From performing in the kitchen, our poor rat band.
by Brianna Griesenauer - The door slammed.
- And then opened.
- And then slammed.
- And then opened once again.
- “For heaven's sake Timmy,” the father yelled from downstairs. “I told you to stop slamming the doors!”
- The door slammed once more.
- And then did not open again.
by Olivia Gibbons - The door slammed.
- I sat there crying.
- Dad was right.
- Why didn’t I just listen to him when he told me to stay out of his office?
- He told me, and told me, and I still went in.
- I don’t even know why he wants me out of there.
- The only thing he saw was a bunch of smoke and some bottles.
- Wait, what am I saying?
- I disobeyed him and now I have to stay in my room for the rest of the day.
- One time, he caught me going to get a snack, and he smacked me in the face.
- It really hurt, but I deserved it and learned my lesson.
- I love him, I love him more than anyone, but he can be mean.
- I wish my mom was here.
- I don’t even know why she left us, but it doesn’t matter.
- I have my dad.
